Another Super Story Time! (Thank you, Schuler Books!)

Saturday marked another release event for my first book, Halloween Good Night, and once again, we had amazing fun. Schuler Books in Grand Rapids set up everything from tables with crafts to treat bags to a cup of water for the visiting author (what, for me?!?).

Miss Margaret delighted the children (I didn't count but around 20?) with a song and on-your-feet action game, followed by a finger play for Five Little Pumpkins (a favorite of mine). Then I had the privilege of reading Halloween Good Night to an absolutely adorable crowd of book lovers. I heard a few giggles at the "Dumpster diving/Bacon" joke - both kiddos and adults - which gave me great confidence in the future of our children!

We enjoyed goodie bags, craft time with coloring pages (available right here!), and great conversation, with book signings tossed in for good measure. If you're local, Schuler has some "Signed by the Author" copies available.

But hurry, the Halloween season is half over! Can you believe it?

I have two events to go: Books & Mortar and Hopscotch Children's Store. See my About page for dates and times. And as always, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to Schuler's Story Time! Click through a few highlights below:

Rebecca Grabill

Rebecca has been writing since childhood, her first book about a kitten published between homemade cardboard covers in second grade. Although she studied religion and philosophy in university, she continued writing, earning an MFA from Hamline University and publishing multiple picture books (no longer with homemade covers) and a collection of poetry with a variety of New York and independent publishers. She has also published a wide array of fiction, essays, and poetry in magazines and journals and photographs for Getty Images. She balances writing with homeschooling the younger of her six children, launching her young adults, church activities, and overseeing a small flock of chickens in rural West Michigan.
